Govt unveils installment scheme for E-bikes, rickshaws

ISLAMABAD: The federal government, under the New Energy Vehicle Policy 2025-30 has officially launched a scheme to provide electric motorbikes and rickshaws.

Up to Rs400,000 subsidy will be provided on an installment under the new scheme.

In the first phase of the scheme, the government will provide 40,000 electric motorcycles and 1,000 electric scooters with a sustainable subsidy.

How to Apply for E-Bikes and Rickshaws

For online applications, visit the official website www.pave.gov.pk

Deadline:

People can register for the scheme to get an electric bike or rickshaw on installments till 30 September 2025.

The scheme includes the following key features:

  • Subsidy for Two- and Three-Wheelers
  • Rs 80,000 subsidy will be provided on each electric motorcycle.
  • Rs400,000 subsidy will be provided on each electric cargo rickshaw.
  • Up to Rs200,000 loan for the period of two years for electric bikes.

Eligibility Criteria

The eligible groups for the scheme include the following

  • Students
    Factory workers
    Women
    Residents of rural areas
    Low-income individuals
    Persons with disabilities

Installment Scheme Balloting

A computerised balloting will be held on 1 October 2025 to select winners.

Earlier, Sindh Police collaborated with the National Police Foundation (NPF) to provide free electric motorcycles and cheap plots to employees up to the rank of Inspector.

This was announced at a gathering held at the police headquarters in Garden South. In which IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon, Additional IG Karachi, Zonal DIGs, District SSPs, besides officers, officials, and Managing Director of NPF Irfan Zaman participated.

Speaking on the occasion, Zaman said that the objective of NPF is the welfare of the police. The foundation will cover the first down payment of plots for personnel, and it will contribute Rs 50,000 for the first 2,000 plots in the police housing society.

He revealed that the idea of ​​providing interest-free electric motorcycles in installments is the brainchild of IG Sindh.

In the event, IG Sindh appreciated the efforts of the foundation for the welfare of Sindh Police and said that providing services at half market price is an excellent initiative.
