How much did petrol, diesel prices increase in one week?

ISLAMABAD: After the prices of petroleum products were determined daily, the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel recorded a continuous increase in the last week.

According to the report, between July 17 and July 25, the price of petrol per liter increased by a total of Rs 24.47 while the price of high-speed diesel increased by Rs 60.16.

On July 18, the government increased the price of petrol by Rs 5.44 per liter and the price of diesel by Rs 31.5 per liter.

After this, petrol was reduced by 35 paise on July 21, however, the price of diesel was increased by another Rs 5.71 per liter on the same day.

On July 22, the price of petrol was increased by Rs 4.93 and the price of diesel by Rs 7.15 per liter, while on July 23, petrol was further increased by Rs 6.39 and diesel by Rs 7.83 per liter.

Similarly, on July 24, the price of petrol was increased by Rs 4.40 and the price of diesel by Rs 3.62 per liter. Later, according to the notification issued for July 25, petrol was further increased by Rs 3.66 and diesel by Rs 4.80 per liter.

According to the data, on July 17, the price of petrol per liter was Rs 310.71, which increased to Rs 335.18 by July 25.

Moreover, high-speed diesel, which was available at Rs 323.30 per litre on July 17, saw its price increase to Rs 383.46 per litre on July 25.

According to experts, the constant fluctuation in prices on a daily basis will not only increase transport costs but also affect the prices of other essential commodities, including food and beverages.
