KARACHI: The Commissioner of Karachi has approved a hike of Rs 10 per liter in the price of milk, here on Saturday.

Following the Dairy Farmers Association demand and the directives of the Commissioner Karachi, the price of milk has hiked by Rs 10 per liter, with shops in the provincial capital now selling milk at Rs 210 per liter.

Residents of Karachi, already burdened by inflation, are expected to face more hardship as reports suggest that milk prices may increase by Rs 50 per liter.

The President of Dairy Farmers Karachi, Mubasher Qadeer Abbasi, referring to the high cost of milk production, rising prices of cattle, and the government’s inattention in these matters, said that the price of milk is expected to increase by Rs 50 per liter for the people of Karachi soon.

Qadeer Abbasi stressed the urgent need for the Karachi Commissioner to issue a notification regarding the new prices as per the production cost of milk immediately.
