ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has established the country’s first dedicated solar panel testing laboratory.
This state-of-the-art laboratory has been established by Pakistan with the assistance of Korea, which is a joint venture between the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Korea International Cooperation Agency.
The Korean company provided a grant of $9.5 million for the establishment of the laboratory, while Pakistan’s Public Sector Development Program provided additional funding of Rs. 185.8 million.
This laboratory will be fully functional in accordance with international standards, after which a rigorous testing process of imported and locally manufactured solar panels will be possible in the country.
The project was inaugurated by Chang Won-sam, President of the Korea International Cooperation Agency, and Park Jae-lark, South Korean Ambassador to Pakistan. This project will promote solar technology in the country.
