ISLAMABAD (By Rizwan Abbasi): Flour prices in the federal capital and Sindh have skyrocketed, while Punjab has the lowest rates in the country, Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) said in a report.
According to a PBS document, residents of Karachi are forced to buy a 20 kg flour bag for Rs 2,200, the most expensive in the country as prices in Sindh have exceeded those in other provinces.
In cities like Hyderabad, Peshawar, and Khuzdar, a 20 kg flour bag is priced at around 2,000 rupees, while in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, the price also reached 2,000 rupees.
In Quetta, the 20 kg bag costs Rs1,970, and in Larkana, the rate has climbed to 1,940 rupees. The 20kg bag costs Rs1,850 in Bannu, and Rs1,820 in Sukkur.
Punjab, on the other hand, maintained the lowest prices, with a 20kg flour bag in Lahore priced at 1,730 rupees, while in Multan it priced at 1,773 rupees, and Bahawalpur at 1,880 rupees.
Faisalabad has the lowest rate, with a 20 kg bag available for Rs1,700. In Gujranwala, Sialkot, and Sargodha, it has been sold at 1,800 rupees.
