SBP unveils multiple jobs under officers training scheme

ISLAMABAD: State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced multiple job opportunities for the post of Assistant Director (OG-2) under the State Bank Officers Training Scheme (SBOTS) – 28th Batch.

Areas of Posting

The bank is seeking young, talented, and energetic candidates from across Pakistan for Karachi-based positions. Selected candidates will have the opportunity to work in a range of departments, including Monetary Policy, Macroeconomic Research and Data, Financial Markets and Foreign Exchange Reserve Management, Banking Policy and Supervision, Islamic Finance, Financial Inclusion, Digital Financial Services, Information Technology, Finance & Risk Management, Internal Audit, External Communications, Strategic Planning, and Human Resources.

Here’s the Eligibility Criteria

  • Education: Applicants must have a Master’s, Bachelor’s, or equivalent degree (16 years of education) with at least 60% marks (where percentages apply) or a minimum 2.5 out of 4.0 or 3.5 out of 5.0 GPA (where GPA system is applicable) from HEC-recognized Pakistani or foreign institutions. Eligible fields include Business Administration, Public Administration, Economics, Commerce, Finance, Statistics, Data Sciences, Actuarial Sciences, Accounting, Computer Sciences, Information Systems and Technology, Mathematics, Human Resource Management, Agriculture Management (other than BSc or MSc in agriculture), Islamic Banking & Finance, Law, Media & Culture Studies, Philosophy, and Physics. Foreign degree holders must provide an HEC equivalence certificate.
  • Age: Maximum 26 years as of June 29, 2025. The age limit is relaxed by three years for female candidates, transgender persons, minorities, and candidates from Balochistan, Azad Jammu & Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and areas previously part of FATA.

Application & Testing Procedure

  • Interested Pakistani citizens (including those from Azad Jammu & Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan) who meet the eligibility criteria must apply online via the SBP website. The careers page can also be accessed by scanning the QR code provided in the official advertisement.
  • Age will be considered as per the applicant’s CNIC.
  • Applications missing required information such as a photograph, date of birth, or other important details will not be shortlisted. Applications not meeting the defined requirements will not be entertained.
  • The last date to submit applications is July 14, 2025. Applications submitted in person or via email will not be accepted.
  • A pre-induction written test will be conducted at designated centers by a Testing Agency, which will notify shortlisted candidates via SMS, send admit cards to their postal addresses, and upload them on its website. No fee is required for the test.
  • The Testing Agency will upload the list of candidates who qualify for the written test on its website.

Selection Procedure

  • Candidates shortlisted based on the written test and eligibility will be invited for further selection steps, including group discussion/psychometric testing and a panel interview.
  • Candidates must bring original educational/professional documents, HEC equivalence certificate (for foreign qualifications), domicile, and CNIC.
  • Any candidate who provides false information, attempts to influence the recruitment process, seeks support through inappropriate means, or tampers with documents will be disqualified from the current and any future recruitment at SBP, even if otherwise eligible. Failure to provide required information or documents, or not meeting the specified criteria will also result in disqualification.

Pre-Induction Training

  • Selected candidates must complete all pre-induction formalities, including medical and psychological examinations and proof of completed education, as per SBP rules.
  • Trainees will undergo Applied Focused Theoretical Training (residential) at the National Institute of Banking and Finance (NIBAF) in Islamabad.
  • Trainees who complete the training will be appointed as Assistant Director (OG-2) at SBP in Karachi.

Compensation Package

  • During training, trainees will receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 41,000.
  • After successful completion of training, trainees will be appointed as Assistant Director (OG-2) with a monthly monetized salary of Rs. 82,000, plus other allowances and benefits as per SBP rules.
