KARACHI: Intermediate Board Karachi Chairman Faqir Muhammad Lakho made the announcement that top-ranking students of government colleges in the city will be given electric bikes as part of the Prime Minister’s scheme.
Besides, the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Pakistan (ICMA) has also offered to give full scholarships to position holders, providing them with a chance to study further for free.
A ceremony is going to be organized, specifically in which Karachi city’s top students of the public colleges, along with their parents and important dignitaries, will be specially invited.
The electric bicycles, already received for distribution, will be handed over to the position winners on this occasion. Officially, the scheme is going to run every year until 2030.
Previously, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had unveiled a countrywide scheme to provide electric bikes to excellent students across the country. The program is one component of the government’s overall strategy to encourage the use of electric vehicles and make green transportation available to people.
The scheme will have 100,000 electric bicycles, 3,000 electric loaders, and 3,000 electric rickshaws to be distributed throughout the nation. All position holders of all educational boards will be eligible for the bicycles, while jobless people will receive the rickshaws and loaders.
