LAHORE: The Punjab Government has initiated registration for the Honhaar Scholarship Program. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif announced the same on Sunday through her X, earlier Twitter handle.
In this regard, the Honhaar portal has also been activated for the upcoming cycle of the scholarship program. CM Maryam appealed to Punjab students to apply fearlessly and continue studying with zeal.
The chief minister said the programme has already benefited 80,000 students since it was launched last year, along with opportunities to seek scholarships in 67 disciplines. In total, there are 50,000 students presently receiving scholarships, which will increase by 30,000.
“Your dreams are the heartbeat of Punjab’s future,” she said, and ensured that their success would always be at the cost of her highest pride.
To be eligible for the Honor Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Applicants must be citizens of Punjab and under the age of 22. Additionally, their family income should be less than Rs. 3 lakh. Academic performance is also a key factor, with a weighted average of 30% Matric and 70% Intermediate marks considered for eligibility.
The Honhar Scholarship offers numerous benefits, including scholarships for students pursuing 68 disciplines/subjects. Students from 50 public sector universities across Punjab are eligible to apply.
Additionally, MBBS and BDS students can also benefit from this program. To facilitate the application process, university information desks have been set up to assist.
This ensures that deserving students from financially constrained backgrounds, who have demonstrated academic excellence, can benefit from the scholarship program.
