KARACHI: The Sindh government extended the summer vacations across the province for all public and private schools by 14 days due to the prevailing severe weather conditions.
According to the notification issued by the Sindh Education Department, all private and government schools will remain closed till August 14 and will reopen on August 15.
Sindh Education Department mentioned extreme heat, a potential heatwave, and the monsoon season as reasons for the extension of summer vacations.
The notification stated, “In continuation of this department’s Notification of even number dated 21.05.2024 and in pursuance of decisions taken in the Sub-Committee of Steering Committee Meeting, the summer vacation are hereby extended in all public and private institutions under the administrative control of the School Education & Literacy Department till 14.08.2024 in the wake of the heat-wave and expected monsoon rains.”
