Election 2024: Polling time will not be extended, ECP

ISLAMABAD: Voting time will not be extended according to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), since no such option is being considered.

Voting for the national assembly and four provincial assemblies is now taking place nationwide.

Without a break, the polling that began at 8 a.m. will go until 5 p.m. There will be voting on 590 seats in four provincial assemblies and 265 seats in the National Assembly.

In a statement, ECP officials stated that voting will only last until 5 p.m. and won’t be extended. They stated that media outlets may air preliminary findings after 6:00 p.m.

They stated that 45 of the 55 concerns the ECP has received about the election process to date have been resolved.
