FAISALABAD: In a remarkable medical feat, a team of skilled surgeons successfully operated on a 10-day-old girl born with two heads at the Government Children’s Hospital. The intricate operation, led by renowned neurosurgeon Dr. Faisal, has given new hope to the infant and her family.

Born to a family in Ghulam Muhammad Abad, the baby girl suffered from a rare congenital condition known as craniopagus, where she formed two heads conjoined together. According to hospital officials, the child had two fully formed brains.

This surgery is a testament to the exceptional skill and dedication of our medical team,” said Dr. Faisal. “We are thrilled to give this young girl a chance of a healthy life.”

The hospital administration has assured that the child will receive ongoing care and monitoring to ensure her continued well-being.

This remarkable achievement draws parallels with the inspiring story of conjoined twins, Mirha and Minal, 11-month-old baby girls from Pakistan, who were successfully separated by a team of 60 medical professionals in Ankara, Turkey.

Born with their heads fused, the twins’ family sought help abroad after being unable to find suitable treatment in Pakistan.

Their plea caught the attention of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who assured renowned pediatric neurosurgeon Owase Jeelani that the twins would receive treatment in Turkey.

Under Jeelani’s leadership, along with Turkish physicians Dr. Harun Demirci and Dr. Hasan Murat Ergani, the surgical team performed a complex two-stage operation lasting 14 hours.

This remarkable success story offers hope to families facing similar challenges worldwide, demonstrating the power of medical expertise and compassion.
