Benazir Kafaalat’s quarterly tranche payments (Jan–March) begin

ISLAMABAD: The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has started to provide beneficiaries all throughout the nation with the quarterly tranche of Benazir Kafaalat cash assistance (January–March). An official source claims that the payment procedure has started concurrently across Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.

More than nine million registered beneficiary families are receiving the additional payment of Rs. 10,500 per household. In the event of a complaint, beneficiaries may contact the Benazir Income Support Program’s toll-free helpline at 080026477 or visit the closest BISP Tehsil offices. In order to rapidly handle beneficiary complaints, the BISP headquarters has launched a separate control room.

The beneficiaries may also reach them via WhatsApp at 03018472836/03028240958 (Sindh), 0318472831 (South Punjab-I), 03175370095 (South Punjab-II), 03028240972 (Central Punjab), 03028240977 (North Punjab), 03185761507 (Balochistan), 03175370081 (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa), and 03155213394 (Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan).

All of these numbers are available on WhatsApp. Only 8171 is used to send communications from the Benazir Income Support Program; messages from any other number should not be believed. The BISP officials have been instructed to make sure that the ladies receive their Kafaalat payments in a timely and courteous manner, with no deductions.

Staff members have been assigned to oversee the payment disbursement process and promptly take action against the agents who are deducting from the beneficiary’s payments. Currently providing support to 9.3 million worthy households, the BISP serves as a lifeline for individuals who are struggling financially.

Launched in 2008, the Unconditional Cash Transfers (UCT) program—also referred to as the “Benazir Kafaalat Programme”—is the central project of BISP. The UCT/Kafaalat effort has expanded so much since it began that it is currently the biggest single cash transfer program in Pakistani history.
