QUETTA: An explosion outside the Qila Saifullah office of Jamiat Ulema Islam-F (JUI-F) candidate Maulana Wasiah has left 8 persons dead and ten injured.
Initial reports state that the explosion has left ten persons injured and five dead. Maulana Wasiah, the PP-3 candidate, was not in his office when the explosion occurred.
The hospitals at the district headquarters are receiving the injured.
In the wake of the explosion, all Quetta hospitals have declared emergencies, and more staff has been called in.
The explosion has been reported to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), which has also requested a report from the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and the Chief Secretary of Balochistan.
Directives have been issued to take measures against people involved in such occurrences, according to an ECP official.
