PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) declared that Sher Afzal Marwat will not receive a ticket from the party when declaring its candidates from Peshawar for the national and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assemblies.

Shandana Gulzar is the candidate put out by the PTI in the NA-30 seat. Sajid Nawaz, Arbab Amir, Arbab Sher Ali and Asif Khan will be PTI candidates from several constituencies in Peshawar.

On December 27, 2023, Taimur Khan Jhagra, a PTI politician from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, voiced his disapproval of Marwat’s decision to run for office from Peshawar after the latter had filed his nomination papers for the NA-32 seat there.

Jhagra had stated, “It would be better if a leader from Peshawar contested from that constituency.”

Sher Afzal Marwat, meanwhile, declared he was not interested in running for office. He had further stated, “The PTI founder has instructed me to run for office from Lakki Marwat.
