ISLAMABAD: Shehbaz Sharif-led government has decided to eliminate the 65-year age limit for key appointments at federal ministries and divisions set by the PTI government.
According to the sources privy to the information, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif instructed to take the approval of the summary from the federal cabinet. The government considered that amendments in the 2019 policy are necessary to promote new talent in the country.
Sources said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has formed a committee under the leadership of Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb to prepare the policy.

The decision was taken to improve the efficiency of federal ministries and divisions and to allow new appointments on special professional pay scales.
After the amendments, new appointments of professionals will be possible after the age of 65. Under the new policy, talented professionals, technical experts, and consultants will be hired.
