Lahore Weather Forcast: Heavy rainfall expected in city

A westerly wave today delivered rain across Punjab including Lahore and snow to the hilly areas of Punjab including Murree and Galiyat. Heavy rains are expected in portions of the country, including the provincial capital Lahore on Monday.

Met Office in a weather advisory, indicating that a westerly wave is currently impacting the western and northern regions of the country. The advisory further predicts that the wave will intensify over the next twelve hours.

Lahore Weather Update

Around the provincial capital, rain fell in the early hours of the morning. Cold winds blowing throughout the city made the temperature more chilled.

Rain, wind, and thunderstorms are possible in the following cities: Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Mianwali, Khushab, Sargodha, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, and Kasur.

In addition, snow rain, and thunderstorms were forecasted for Murree, Galliyat, and the surrounding hilly districts. The following locations can expect mild to moderate rainfall with strong winds: Rajanpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Bhakkar, Kot Addu, Layyah, and Multan.

Today Lahore Temperature

The city experienced a downpour in different localities in the early morning and intermittent rainfall is expected throughout the today. Humidity is around 90% and winds blowing at 27 km/h in the provincial capital. The minimum temperature recorded is 12 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature is expected to reach around 20 degrees Celsius.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) reports that a recent westward surge is presently affecting the central and upper regions of the country. Snowfall is foreseen over the hills of Punjab from February 19th to February 21st.
