LAHORE: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), which hopes to win the general elections in 2024, has started a campaign to get ideas from the general public for its platform.
Shehbaz Sharif, the president of the PML-N and a former prime minister, made the announcement on social media site X, formerly known as Twitter, inviting “all Pakistanis living at home and abroad” to take part.
The party wants to pinpoint major issues in a number of industries and, by working together, create workable answers. An idea and proposal submission page, http://pmln2024.com, has been established.
“Valuable and practical suggestions” from the public, according to Shehbaz Sharif, are what he hopes will help create “a fruitful manifesto that will help us take Pakistan forward.” The emphasis on public participation points to a desire to develop a platform-based policy, which might appeal to supporters who want a say in the party’s direction.
His speech also alluded to the party’s campaign platform, which emphasizes nostalgia and prior accomplishments.

He brought up the previous achievements of party chief Nawaz Sharif in combating terrorism, blackouts, and development initiatives. The party seeks to evoke fond memories of Nawaz Sharif’s “golden era” in order to garner support from his devoted fan base.
The claim that Nawaz Sharif would “enter the field under his leadership” could, however, run into legal issues because Nawaz was barred from holding public office because of a corruption conviction. All things considered, the PML-N’s public outreach campaign represents an effort to increase its appeal and strengthen its standing as a prominent candidate in the next elections. – INP
