LAHORE, Punjab- In a bid to navigate the unpredictable weather conditions gripping the region, authorities in Punjab have announced revised new school timings for schools in Punjab effective February 1, 2024, extending through April 2024. This decision comes amidst a shift in climate dynamics, with the conclusion of an intense cold wave and recent rainfall signaling a transition in seasonal patterns.

New School Timings for Lahore, Punjab 2024

Under the new directives, schools across Punjab will operate from 8:00 am to 2:30 pm, aiming to ensure the safety and well-being of students during their commute and school hours. Notably, regular classes at boys’ schools in Lahore and other cities will commence at 8:30 am and conclude at 2:30 pm, while girls’ schools will follow a schedule from 8:15 am to 2:15 pm.

The decision to adjust school hours follows a period of disruption caused by severe smog conditions and harsh winter weather, which led to the closure of educational institutions and the postponement of exams in December 2023 and January 2024.
