LAHORE: Model and actor Saba Qamar has decided to take legal action against Lahore-based journalist after the latter’s serious and controversial allegations about the Lollywood star.

Local media reported that the Baghi star is already making headlines for her two latest dramas, as Karachi sparked a huge debate online. Amid such a scenario, the journalist Naeem Hanif made some shocking claims about the private life of the actress.

Naeem Hanif, a man renowned for his behind-the-scenes gossip on celebrities, claimed Saba Qamar lived in Lahore with a man in April 2003, with whom she was supposedly having an affair. When he said the affair did not lead to marriage, the man started harassing her:

Reacting strongly, Saba Qamar termed the allegations baseless and defamatory and announced that she would seek a legal course for damage to her reputation. Social media is abuzz with reactions. One user asked, Why is only Saba’s name being dragged? Why is the name of the man not being revealed? While another lauded her and said, It’s the right thing, Saba should take such people to court.

Saba Qamar’s move has also been termed as courageous, positive stand, whereby speaking out against defamation is essential in today’s era of rampant gossip. Her fans and fellow celebrities praise her for the move.
