LAHORE:  The Lahore Sessions Court issued a ruling on Tuesday that allows YouTuber Rajab Butt and his co-accused Nadeem Mubarak to remain free until their court appearance on April 28 for their case concerning the unauthorized marketing activities of the Joy gambling application.

The hearing, presided over by Additional Sessions Judge Zulfiqar Ahmed, was postponed because the investigation officer and National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) prosecutor both failed to attend the court session, which handles digital fraud and online content-related criminal cases.

Both accused appeared before the court during the proceedings. The judge ordered the investigation officer and prosecutor to bring the needed evidence for the next court session because he wanted to prevent any future delays.

The case demonstrates that NCCIA has filed a complaint that accuses the defendants of operating an unlicensed online gambling service that violates Pakistan’s cybercrime and electronic fraud regulations. The court has scheduled all future court activities to resume on April 28.

YouTuber Rajab Butt and his co-defendants face criminal charges because they allegedly conducted unauthorized marketing activities for online gambling applications, which include the Joy gambling app that violates Pakistan’s cybercrime and electronic fraud regulations.

The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) registered a First Information Report (FIR) and opened an investigation after issuing notices to Rajab Butt to attend the agency meeting about his suspected involvement in promoting gambling and online betting services through social media platforms.

The Islamabad High Court provided protective and transit bail privileges to Rajab Butt and co-accused TikToker Nadeem Naniwala which constitutes the initial stage of the extensive legal battle.
