ISLAMABAD: The case of the alleged disappearance of 11-year-old domestic worker Humaira Bibi from the federal capital Islamabad has taken a serious turn. The innocent girl was last seen by her parents on August 14, 2024, and since then, no trace of her has been found.
The parents say that Humaira was sent to work at the house of Amjad Ali, a resident of Islamabad. A case was registered against Amjad Ali and his two wives for the girl’s disappearance, but the police are reportedly reluctant to take effective action.
According to the parents, the three named accused were arrested by the police, but were released after some time. Amjad Ali, his wife and ex-wife have been named in the FIR. The three have approached the Islamabad High Court for pre-arrest bail.
The victim’s family says they are struggling and have knocked on every door to find the girl.
According to details obtained by ABN News, 11-year-old Humaira was working as a domestic worker in the house of Amjad Ali Gul, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination and former Acting DG Pakistan Sports Board.
Amjad Ali Gul maintains that Humaira had allegedly committed theft, on which he informed the police and filed an FIR. He says that the case is pending in court and he also tried to contact the victim but was unsuccessful.
“We have repeatedly requested the police to recover the girl by all possible means. The theft or whatever the truth is, it will become clear as soon as it comes to light,” Amjad Ali Gul maintained.
