5 terrorist killed, 2 soldiers martyred during IBO in Peshawar: ISPR

PESHAWAR: Five terrorists were killed after security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the area of Hassan Khel, Peshawar District on the reported presence of terrorists on May 26, a military media wing said on Sunday. 

According to an ISPR press release, during the conduct of the operation, troops of the Pakistan army and FC effectively engaged the terrorists’ location, as a result of which five terrorists were sent to hell, while three terrorists got injured.

However, during an intense exchange of fire, leading his troops from the front, Captain Hussain Jahangir, 25, a resident of Rahim Yar Khan along with Havildar Shafiq Ullah, 36, a resident of District Karak were martyred.

Sanitization operations are being carried out to eliminate any terrorists found in the area, it added.

Furthermore, the security forces of Pakistan are determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism, and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve.

Earlier on Wednesday, ISPR said security forces have successfully neutralized 29 terrorists in the past month during several operations along the Pakistan-Afghansiotan border and in the Zhob District of Balochistan.

According to the military’s media wing, recently, Pakistan has witnessed a surge in terrorist incidents orchestrated from Afghan soil, wherein, terrorists from Afghanistan attempt to infiltrate through the Pakistan-Afghanistan Border and target Security Forces as well as innocent civilians.
