DERA ISMAIL KHAN: A Pakistani Army Lieutenant Colonel, Khalid Ameer, and three of his brothers, who were abducted earlier this week from Dera Ismail Khan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, have been rescued.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), their safe and unconditional release was facilitated by the efforts of tribal elders and local notables. The abductees have safely returned home, marking a successful resolution
Earlier, the kidnapping incident had occurred when Lt Col Ameer and his two brothers were attending a condolence gathering following the recent passing of their father at a mosque in their hometown of Mohalla Khadr Khel when 12 to 15 armed men on motorbikes stormed the mosque and kidnapped Ameer along with his three brothers.
