KARACHI:  A 33-year-old American woman was stranded at Karachi airport on Tuesday after a 19-year-old local man from Garden West allegedly lured her to Pakistan.

According to police, the woman was identified as Onya Andrew Robinson, who came from New York.

The young man had allegedly wooed her, but her parents refused to approve the marriage when they found out that she was almost twice his age.

The family also learned that Robinson was recently divorced and had two sons. However, she faced rejection from her partner’s family.

Onya claimed that she was stranded for seven days, as her visa had expired when the man left her stranded at the airport.

Law enforcement officials reported that arrangements had been made through security agencies to issue her a 15-day visa.

After obtaining her travel ticket, Robinson is set to leave for home soon.

Authorities have noted that the woman did not file any complaint against the young man despite the ordeal.
