ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) has issued arrest warrants for 50 PTI leaders, including former President Arif Alvi and Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur.
After hearing the case registered at Karachi Company Police Station in connection with the November 26 protest, the court today issued arrest warrants for 41 PTI leaders, while arrest warrants have already been issued for 9 PTI leaders, thus, arrest warrants have been issued for a total of 50 PTI leaders.
The warrants of the PTI leaders were issued in case number 1193 registered at Karachi Company Police Station.
These accused include Arif Alvi, Abdul Qayyum Niazi, Shibli Faraz, Faisal Javed, Salman Akram Raja, Rauf Hassan, Murad Saeed, Ahmed Niazi.
In addition, arrest warrants have also been issued for Chief Minister KPK Ali Amin Gandapur, Asad Qaiser, Hammad Azhar, Atif Khan, Shoaib Shaheen, Azam Khan Swati, Omar Ayub, Sahibza Hamid Raza, Aleema Khanum, Sheikh Waqas Akram, Kanwal Shozab, Shandana Gulzar, Sherafazal Marwat.
Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain issued the warrants after the accused failed to appear. The court ordered the immediate arrest and production of the accused.
It should be noted that 32 cases of November 24 and 26 are registered in Rawalpindi Division, in which Bushra Bibi is also nominated in the November 26 constable murder case in Taxila police station.
