LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, is likely to expand the provisional cabinet on the instruction of former Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif, according to media reports.
A key meeting was held under the chairmanship of Nawaz Sharif in Donga Gali, where the Sharif family had a constructive meeting on the current political situation of the country.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, PML-N President Nawaz Sharif, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, and former chief minister Hamza Shehbaz attended the meeting.
Following the meeting, the expansion of the cabinet was decided, whereby 10 ministers and advisors are likely to be included, the majority hailing from South Punjab.
Nawaz, CM, and Hamza met at Donga Gali at the prime minister’s request and decided to finalize the list of applicants for the new cabinet positions.
Nawaz and CM Maryam will work together to create the shortlist of choices, and following final discussions, official announcements will be made.
