LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has inaugurated the ”Green Tractor Scheme” today in an official ceremony held in Lahore, a ground-breaking initiative that aims to provide 9,500 tractors to farmers at subsidized prices through balloting.
Earlier, the Punjab government scheme garnered an overwhelming response, with over 1.5 million applications received from farmers across the province.
Under the Green Tractor Scheme, eligible farmers with 1 to 50 acres of agricultural land can benefit from a significant subsidy of Rs. 10 lakhs on 50 to 85 HP tractors manufactured in Pakistan.
The tractors available under the scheme include locally manufactured models from renowned companies such as Massey Ferguson, New Holland Al-Ghazi, and Millat Tractor Company.
Winning applicants can check their names on the official website. The scheme is a significant step towards supporting farmers in Punjab and boosting agricultural productivity in the province.
