SIALKOT: The Sialkot District Police Officer (DPO) on Saturday dismissed 23 policemen for their alleged links with criminals.
According to a Sialkot police spokesperson, 51 policemen were punished under the supervision of DPO Faisal Shahzad and 23 of them were dismissed from service for their alleged links with criminals.
Another policeman was dismissed from service for absenteeism from special duty.
Three sub-inspectors, four assistant sub-inspectors, one head constable and 17 constables have been dismissed from police service.
At least 51 policemen were charged with violating departmental rules and were given punishments such as resignation from service, reprimand and deductions.
