ISLAMABAD: In a recent development, the customs officers apprehended a woman smuggling 20 latest smartphones worth over 3 million at Islamabad International Airport.

Customs officers claim that the woman, who was flying on a foreign airline, tried to exit the green channel without having her bags inspected when she landed.

Customs officers checked the woman’s luggage because they were suspicious of her behavior and seized at least 20 iPhone XS and XS Max models.

The customs official said that Abdul Rehman, the protocol officer from Sindh House, had arrived at the airport to pick up the woman.

The official further stated that a letter on the cancellation of Mr. Rahman’s protocol card had been sent to the relevant department.
