DG ISPR confirms 31 civilian casualties, crtiticises unprovoked Indian aggression on Pakistan

RAWALPINDI: Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif has confirmed that 31 innocent Pakistani civilians have been martyred and 57 injured in the recent Indian attacks.

Briefing the media, the ISPR spokesperson said that the increase in casualties is a result of India’s continued ceasefire violations and unprovoked firing along the Line of Control (LoC).

The DG ISPR strongly condemned India’s targeting of civilians during air strikes, saying that such actions show India’s weakness. He added that the attacks on May 6 and 7 expose India’s cowardice, as they attack innocent civilians under the cover of darkness instead of directly confronting the Pakistani Army.

In response to the attacks, the DG questioned India’s claims of killing “terrorists” and showed pictures of the victims, including children. “Are these the terrorists that India claims to have targeted?” he asked, stressing that such actions are unique to India. He also reiterated that India’s support for terrorism in Pakistan through its proxies is clear.

He added that the evidence of these actions is clear to the international community.

The DG ISPR also highlighted that India targeted the Neelum-Jhelum Hydropower Project, which is a vital national asset, and termed it a serious mistake that will be rectified soon.

Domestic and international flights were operating in Pakistani airspace at the time of the attack, reflecting the recklessness of India’s actions.

Earlier, India launched “Operation Sindhoor” at around 1:25 am on Wednesday, claiming it was revenge for the killing of 26 tourists in Indian-occupied Kashmir, and accusing Pakistan of involvement in the attack, a claim Islamabad has strongly denied.
