Dismissed government employees protest in Red Zone Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Dismissed government employees held a protest demonstration in front of Islamabad High Court (IHC) here on Wednesday.

According to the details, PPP Senator Mandukhel led a protest march of hundreds of employees in front of the IHC while police stopped the protestors.

A large number of protestors gathered in front of the High Court in favor of their demands.

It should be noted that all the demonstrators were government employees; they were recruited on contract in 2008 during the People’s Party period, and when Imran Khan’s government came in 2021, they were all fired.

Almost three lakh employees were dismissed across Pakistan, while their salaries are still pending.

Senator Mandukhel said during the protest, “I personally went to their camp and reiterated their full support.”.

He said now that PPP is also in the government, these dismissed government employees are protesting to get their rights back.
