e-Pay Punjab receives Rs 400 billion revenue through 50 million transactions

LAHORE: The Government of Punjab has achieved a milestone in tax collection, surpassing Rs 400 billion through its online platform, e-Pay Punjab. This system has facilitated over 50 million transactions, indicating a significant shift towards online payments among citizens.

Faisal Yousaf, the Chairman of Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), highlighted these achievements during a progress review meeting. Notably, more than 3 million citizens have downloaded the e-Pay Punjab app, which offers a wide range of services, including the payment of 84 different taxes across 18 departments.

Chairman Faisal Yousaf emphasized the ongoing efforts to enhance user experience by adding new services to the platform. Developed in collaboration with Punjab Finance Department and 1 Link, e-Pay Punjab provides multiple payment options such as ATM, internet banking, mobile banking, and over-the-counter transactions at 1Link member banks.

Additionally, tax payments can be made through Telco Agents and mobile wallets, demonstrating the government’s commitment to modernizing processes and improving accessibility to public services.
