EXCLUSIVE: Zakir Naik explains why he left India in tell all interview

ISLAMABAD: Eminent religious scholar Dr. Zakir Naik said that he left India because of the growing hatred of the Modi government against him for being an influential Muslim scholar in the country among many others.

Elaborating on the reason, Dr. Zakir alleged that whenever he used to deliver lectures in India — which he started in 1991 — around 25% of attendees were always non-Muslims, particularly Hindus. Most of them used to endorse my knowledge about their religion, he said, adding that many were accepting Islam over my preaching at the time.

In an exclusive interview with ABN News/Daily Ausaf, Naik said that he was framed after the 2016 Dhaka terrorist attack when one of the terrorists was found following his official Facebook account.

Following the incident, he added that the Indian media, which he termed Godi Media, started propagating against him and made a false narrative saying that “I inspired the terrorist”. “Afterward, the Indian parliament was told that no evidence was found against Zakir Naik and his organization being involved in terrorist activities,” he said.

He further said that my organization, the Islamic Research Foundation (IRF) was banned over fake allegations when I was performing Umrah in 2016. “When they booked me in a money laundering and several other cases, I was in Saudi Arabia and made a decision to flew to Malaysia instead of India,” he said in an interview with ABN News.

He further added, “Indian authorities later accused me of terrorism and moved Interpol for my arrest, which was rejected by the agency saying that the allegation is deemed political.”
