ISLAMABAD: Eid ul Azha will be observed in Pakistan on Wednesday, May 27, as was confirmed by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.
The committee said that Zil Hajj 1447 Hijri will start on Monday, May 18. After this confirmation, the Cabinet Division’s earlier notification about public holidays will be followed across the country, with no real changes there.
As per the January 2026 schedule, Eid holidays are set to run from May 27 to May 29. Then, with Saturday and Sunday in between, it looks like citizens can take a five-day break from May 27 to May 31.
Earlier, the Cabinet Division had announced May 27, 28, and 29 as Eid holidays, but they were kept subject to moon sighting reports.
