ISLAMABAD: Former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry has urged President-elect Donald Trump to investigate the ousting of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder (PTI) founder Imran Khan’s government, citing similarities between Trump and Khan’s experiences with “fake cases”.

Talking to a local media channel, Fawad claimed that the newly elected US President would speak about ex-prime minister Imran Khan and basic human rights in the country because of the Pakistani diaspora’s pressure.

Chaudhry believes Trump’s advisors share his concerns that the Biden administration was involved in Khan’s removal as Pakistan’s prime minister.

The former federal minister also expressed that Donald Trump has faced similar situations to Imran Khan whether it’s political propagands or fake cases.

In a statement he said, There were several ‘similarities’ between Donald Trump and Imran Khan, Fawad Chaudhry said that the US president-elect also faced similar ‘fake cases just like Imran Khan is facing in Pakistan’.

This development comes after PTI founder Imran Khan expressed excitement over Trump’s victory in the 2024 US presidential election, hoping it would improve Pakistan-US relations.

Imran Khan, currently imprisoned, is optimistic that the negativity surrounding Pakistan-US relations under the Biden administration will dissipate. He recalls enjoying friendly ties with Trump during his premiership, receiving calls to discuss bilateral relations and business issues.

Trump’s positive attitude towards Pakistan and improving relations between the two countries were key takeaways from these conversations.
