Federal constitutional court declares Monal restaurant demolition order null and void

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Constitutional Court on Friday declared the decision to demolish Monal Restaurant in Sohag null and void. The court accepted the appeals of CDA and Metropolitan Corporation, and the Federal Constitutional Court also lifted the injunction.

The Constitutional Court said that the ownership decision will be made by the trial courts without being influenced by the court’s remarks, the trial courts have been directed to decide the cases quickly, and the administrative matters will be decided by the regulatory bodies.

Justice Hassan Azhar Rizvi said that several points were not taken into account in the Supreme Court’s decision, and such things were also written in the decision that were not mentioned in the case. It is not emotional, we will decide according to the law, and unnecessary things will not be included in the decision.

It should be remembered that the Supreme Court ordered the demolition of the Monal Restaurant on August 21, 2024.
