Field Marshal Asim Munir engages with key business figures, economic challenges discussed

RAWALPINDI: Field Marshal General Asim Munir has met with business figures of the country, in which the Army Chief was briefed on the country’s economy.

According to sources, business figures led by former caretaker federal minister Gohar Ijaz met the Field Marshal.

APTMA Chairman Kamran Arshad and SM Tanveer, and others were present in the meeting. Sources say that the presidents of FPCCI and Lahore Chamber also participated in the meeting.

Gohar Ijaz said that Field Marshal General Asim Munir was briefed on the country’s economy in the meeting.

Former caretaker federal minister Gohar Ijaz said that stability is visible in the country’s economy, the business community is supporting the government’s economic policies, and business facilities should be created for economic reforms.

He said that the interest rate should be reduced in proportion to inflation, and the concerns of the business community regarding the federal budget should be addressed.

Former caretaker federal minister Gohar Ijaz said that an export-oriented economy will be driven forward, the promises made in the budget speech should be fulfilled, while domestic cotton and farmers should be protected.
