NORTH WAZIRISTAN: At least eight people including four policemen were martyred and five others were injured in a suicide bombing in Mir Ali Tehsil of North Waziristan, police said on Saturday.
The suicide bomber targeted the joint checkpost of police and security forces in the Eidak area of Mir Ali. Police officials said that four cops, two paramilitary officials, and two civilians lost their lives in the attack near the border with Afghanistan.
The bomber set off the blast from the back of a motorbike rickshaw near the town, a local police officer told AFP.
“Among the five injured personnel, the condition of three is critical, and they have been transferred to a local military hospital,” he added.
Following the suicide attack, the Hafiz Gul Bahadur group of TTP claimed responsibility and identified the bomber as Yahya Bannuchi.
