RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir visited Wana region of South Waziristan, where he was given a comprehensive briefing on the current security situation, ongoing counter-terrorism operations and development initiatives.
During the interaction with the officers and soldiers, the COAS appreciated the high level of preparedness and extraordinary morale to counter the hostile threats.
The ISPR said they reiterated the unwavering resolve of the Pakistan Army to thwart the nefarious intentions of the enemy forces and their facilitators.
The Army Chief paid heartfelt tributes to the Security Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) who have rendered immeasurable sacrifices in the line of duty.
He emphasized that Pakistan Army will continue to provide continuous support and technical assistance to the LEAs, especially the KP Police, to enhance their capabilities.
General Munir also acknowledged the important role of the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in establishing peace and advancing various projects under the South Waziristan Integrated Development Plan.
He emphasized the determination of Pakistan Army to utilize its resources for the prosperity and development of the people of KPK.
Moreover, he thanked the tribal elders for their invaluable support in the war against terrorism and Pakistan Army for their unwavering support.
On arrival, the COAS paid homage to the martyr by placing floral wreaths on the martyrs’ memorial. In Wana, Corps Commander Peshawar gave a warm welcome to the Army Chief.
