LAHORE: Great news for aspiring driving license seekers in Punjab! The Motor Vehicles Rules 1969 have undergone a significant change, especially regarding the driving test process, making it easier and more convenient.

In a recent announcement via Twitter, the Lahore traffic police revealed that the e-sign test, a vital component of the driving test, will now be conducted two weeks later than usual. However, passing the on-road test remains essential. Failing this test will require a 42-day waiting period before being allowed to retake both exams.

The on-road test is a standard procedure where candidates demonstrate their driving skills on a designated course. If unsuccessful, candidates must wait for 42 days before attempting the tests again. On the other hand, the e-sign test assesses theoretical knowledge and can be taken at the candidate’s convenience within the two-week window.

Successfully passing both tests will earn candidates their much-desired driver’s license.

This adjustment in the Motor Vehicle Rules is a positive step towards simplifying the licensing process for aspiring drivers in Punjab. It demonstrates a commitment to promoting road safety by ensuring that licensed drivers are competent and responsible.
