ISLAMABAD: In what is being hailed as a significant development amid rising tensions between Pakistan and India, former Prime Minister Imran Khan has been released from Adiala Jail and shifted to a safe, undisclosed location, according to unconfirmed reports.

According to circulating reports, the decision to remove the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman was taken in view of the current sensitive situation in the country and “in the best interest of national security and public order.”

While official channels are yet to confirm the development, sources claim that Imran Khan was quietly shifted from the high-security compound in Rawalpindi shortly before midnight. The move is believed to be a precautionary measure taken by the authorities to ensure his safety amid rising regional instability.

The development comes at a time when the region is facing diplomatic and military tensions, with tensions escalating due to recent cross-border incidents between Pakistan and India. Intelligence agencies had reportedly issued alerts to important national figures, indicating potential threats.

No statement has been issued by the Interior Ministry or the Prisons Department yet, and the PTI leadership has also remained silent.
