ISLAMABAD: Authorities have closed roads leading to several tourist spots including Naran, Babusar Top, Batakundi, Gilgit and Skardu due to heavy snowfall.

Tourists going to these areas have been advised to return from Batakand, police said, adding that roads are slippery due to snowfall. They said that such slippery roads can lead to accidents.

A spokesperson of the tourism authority said that the first snowfall of the winter occurred in the tourist destination of Batakandi in the Naran Valley. A few days ago, there was snow on Babusar Top too.

The spokesperson said that tourists can get any information by contacting the Tourism Department on helpline 1422.

Naran is a beautiful valley in northern Pakistan, famous for its picturesque scenery, lush greenery and crystal-clear rivers.

The best time to visit these places is from May to September when the weather is pleasant, and the roads are accessible.

Every year thousands of tourists travel to these valleys to spend quality time.
