ISLAMABAD: A public holiday is expected for schools and offices in the federal capital, Islamabad and Rawalpindi on October 4 due to the PTI protest planned at D-Chowk.

As per the details, this comes as the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced a protest at D-Chowk in Islamabad. In preparation of the protest, local authorities have placed containers around twin cities. Due to roads closure in the twin cities, officials are considering a holiday to mitigate disruptions for residents and commuters.

Previously, PTI had announced a protest after cancelling a rally at Liaqauat Bagh in Rawalpindi, leading to the complete closure of roads between Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

This had caused significant difficulties for the public, prompting authorities to take pre-emptive measures this time around.

Earlier, Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Ali Amin Gandapur has issued a statement regarding the protest at D-Chowk in Islamabad on October 4 and said that no matter how long it takes, they will reach D-Chowk.

In his video message, the Gandapur said that the people will break the shackles of fear to protect the Constitution and uphold the rule of law.

He said that they are fighting for real freedom and will continue to fight till they get their rights.

Gandapur condemned the violent actions of the federal government and the Punjab government and said that they are determined to exercise their constitutional rights.

CM KP criticized the illegal possession of private vehicles and warned the owners not to bring their cars on the motorway as they would not be held responsible for any damage.
