Holidays cancelled for Parliament staff as Chinese PM Li Qiang’s address approaches

ISLAMABAD: The date for Chinese Premier Li Qiang’s anticipated address to the Pakistani Parliament is set for October 14.

As per the media reports, this address is part Premier Li’s visit to Pakistan for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Heads of Government Council meeting.

In preparation for the joint session of both houses, the leave scheduled for Senate and National Assembly staff from October 14 to 16 has been cancelled. This decision underscores the significance of the event, as Premier Li’s address is expected to strengthen diplomatic ties between the two countries.

While the date is tentatively confirmed, officials expect a final decision on the address to be made in the coming days.
