LAHORE:  Following India’s heinous attack at five separate places in Pakistan, the Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISEs) in Punjab have postponed the intermediate part 2 exams and the class 10 practical tests.

The students have been notified of the development by the boards, including BISE Lahore. All of the tests that were supposed to take place on May 7 have been rescheduled, they stated, and new dates for the exams will be revealed later.

The Lahore board stated in the notification that all of the Theory Examinations and Practicals of the HSSC & SSC 1 Annual Examinations 2025, which were scheduled to take place on 07-05-2025 (TODAY), have been postponed with the consent of the Competent Authority. The revised schedule for these exams and practicals will be announced separately and in due course.

Earlier, Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz announced the closure of all educational institutions across the province on Wednesday (May 7) amid the recent standoff with India.

The decision was taken after India cowardly attacked several cities in Punjab and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), targeting the civilian population.

DG ISPR Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry confirmed that India has launched missiles from its airspace in Bahawalpur, Kotli, Muzaffarabad, Muridke, and Bagh.

Considering the situation, the Punjab government has announced several emergency measures, putting all law enforcement agencies on high alert.

Law enforcement agencies and medical personnel have been instructed to report for duty, the Punjab government spokesperson said in a statement.

The Punjab government has alerted the hospitals and communication lines for possible in case of an emergency, and instructed to mobilize all trained personnel regarding civil defense in the field.
