Iran has right to self-defense under the UN Charter: Pakistan

NEW YORK: Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Asim Iftikhar, while Addressing a meeting in the UN Security Council has said that Iran has the right to defend itself under the UN Charter.

He said that Israeli attack is a violation of Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and Pakistan condemns Israel’s illegal attack on Iran.

Asim Iftikhar said that Israeli attacks are a serious threat to peace, security and stability and continuous violations of sovereignty by Israel are becoming the norm.

Earlier, Iran retaliated strongly against Israel by firing more than 150 missiles and in this operation called Operation Promised Sadiq III, 150 to 200 missiles were fired at Israel in three intervals over an hour.

100 missiles were fired in the first attack and fifty missiles in the second, while about fifty missiles were fired in the third attack. The commander of the Revolutionary Guards claims that Iran has hit more than 150 targets in Israel, with the Israeli capital echoing with the sounds of explosions from these attacks.

Israel’s missile defense system, with the help of the United States, destroyed several Iranian missiles in the air, but several Iranian missiles fell on various targets in Tel Aviv. Among the targets hit, one missile also hit the Israeli Ministry of Defense. In total, at least nine targets have been attacked with missiles.

According to Iranian media, the targets that were successfully hit include Israeli military bases and the Ministry of National Security. At least 63 people have been confirmed injured in the Iranian attacks, two of whom are said to be in critical condition. According to the Iranian intelligence agency, several Israeli soldiers were injured in the attack on the Nivtam airbase
