Islamabad traffic plan ahead of PTI protest announced

ISLAMABAD: The administration of Islamabad has announced a detailed traffic regulation plan to deal with any security threats posed during the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) sit-in on November 24.

To maintain law and order, the administration has launched strict security measures across Islamabad’s sensitive points, the red zone has been sealed completely, meanwhile, law enforcement agencies are conducting security checks on the commuters traveling through the city’s eternal routes.

Islamabad Traffic Plan 

It entails that a large number of entry and exit points to the Red Zone have already been sealed and will remain closed. To contain the possible threats of unrest in the city, the authority has also enforced the closure of Murree Road to the capital city and barricaded several areas of T-chowk, Faizabad, and 26 number Chungi.

Additionally, all entry points to Islamabad have been closed from the Srinagar Highway, whereas several roads are blocked including sector I-8, IJP Double Road, Margalla Road, and Golra Morh flyover and underpass.

Moreover, section 144 has been declared on the entire city due to the upcoming PTI protest in Islamabad on November 24. This restriction on assembly and demonstration will come into force on Saturday, November 23, and last until Monday,y November 25, 2024.

Through this extensive traffic plan and by enforcing section 144, the proper management tries to control and safeguard the people during the protest by the PTI.
