ISLAMABAD: The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) has officially announced summer vacation for all educational institutions in Islamabad due to the severe heatwave recorded in the federal capital.

All schools and colleges regulated under the Federal Directorate of Education will observe summer holidays from June 10 and will last until July 31, 2024.

According to the notification, those enrolled in undergraduate classes (BS/ADP programmes) are an exception as their classes will continue uninterrupted, aligning with the established semester calendar.

During the summer break, educational institutions will undergo infrastructure renovation and various other activities aimed at enhancing operational efficiency.

They include physical verification of stocks, repair, and maintenance of furniture, buildings, and playgrounds, and in-house continuing professional development sessions in the last week of July.
