ISLAMABAD: Jamiat Ulema Islam (JUI) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said that the government’s constitutional amendment draft has been completely rejected.

He added that now he is saying that it was not even his draft. What was the game with the draft that was provided earlier?

Maulana Fazlur Rehman while talking informally to the media at the residence of PTI leader Asad Qaiser said that I had come to have lunch at the residence of Asad Qaiser, nothing more.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman reiterated that the government’s draft was completely unacceptable. “They now claim that it was not their draft, but after reviewing what was previously provided was unacceptable. To support it would have been high treason to the nation.

Meanwhile, he refrained from commenting on the alleged conversation of PTI founder Imran Khan in Adiala Jail.

According to media reports, PTI leaders including former president Dr Arif Alvi and Rauf Hassan also participated in the luncheon. Asad Qaiser had invited Maulana Fazlur Rehman for lunch at his residence yesterday.

Government and opposition delegations met Maulana Fazlur Rehman to seek his support for constitutional amendments, with Asad Qaiser being particularly active in these efforts. Arif Alvi also met Maulana.
