QUETTA: The death toll in a tragic terrorist attack on a school bus in Khuzdar has risen to six, after another injured student succumbed to her injuries at a hospital in Quetta on Thursday.

The eighth-grade student, Sahar Saleem, was critically injured in the blast and admitted to CMH Quetta, but died despite medical efforts, state-run PTV News reported.

A powerful explosion near Zero Point in Balochistan’s Khuzdar targeted a school bus, resulting in the martyrdom of three innocent children and two soldiers on the spot, along with 53 injured, including 39 innocent children, of whom 8 are critical

The government on Wednesday said that the reprehensible and cowardly attack was orchestrated by Indian-sponsored terror proxies (Fitna Al Hindustan).

Earlier, three students — Sania Soomro (12) of sixth grade, Hifza Kausar (12) of seventh grade, Aisha Saleem (16) of tenth grade — along with one other individual, were martyred in the bombing that shocked the nation.

According to hospital authorities, 36 injured victims of the attack were initially shifted to various hospitals in Quetta for medical attention, with five still in critical condition.

Security sources condemned the incident as a heinous attempt to destabilise the region following India’s military setbacks, describing it as a desperate and cowardly move targeting Pakistan’s future — its children.

CTD officials stated that the case was filed on behalf of the police and includes charges of murder, attempted murder, and sections of the Anti-Terrorism Act.
